September 1 has marked several significant milestones in rock music history. In 1977, the band Blondie signed their first major record contract with Chrysalis Records. In 1984, Tina Turner reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with her hit “What's Love Got to Do with It”, which held the number one position for three weeks.

Other notable musical events include the 1989 release of Mötley Crüe’s best-selling album, “Dr. Feelgood”. In 1975, the Grateful Dead released their eighth studio album, “Blues for Allah”. Additionally, in 1978, Styx released “Pieces of Eight”, which eventually achieved triple-Platinum status in the United States. The year 1979 also saw the Farriss Brothers perform their first concert under the name INXS.
