Rockabilly festivals brighten Croatia’s Daruvar and Vinkovci in July

Two rockabilly festivals took place in Croatia in early July. The city of Daruvar hosted the eighth edition of the Two Days Rockabilly Plays festival from July 2‑4, offering free concerts, retro‑styled workshops and a vintage car display. Acts included Croatia’s Bar Exam, Italy’s Lovesick Duo, Hungary’s Sonny and His Wild Cows, Germany’s The Jumpin’ Rockets and other regional bands.

In Vinkovci, the 10th‑anniversary Hang Loose Rockabilly Yard Fest was held over a Friday and Saturday, featuring only musical performances this year. The lineup showcased Slovenia’s The Over Drive Cats, Hungary’s Red Roosters, Canada’s Bloodshot Bill and several local groups. Organisers highlighted the festival’s vintage aesthetic and its appeal to multiple generations.

Both events attracted international rock‑and‑roll acts and aimed to revive 1950s‑era music and culture for local audiences.
