Rockaway Township officer charged with obstruction and drug conspiracy

Donald J. Reddin, a 34-year-old Rockaway Township police officer from Wharton, has been charged with obstruction of a government operation and conspiracy to distribute a controlled dangerous substance.

According to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, the charges stem from an incident on March 12, where Reddin allegedly provided privileged information to a subject of a criminal investigation. Prosecutors claim Reddin warned the individual not to leave their residence due to police activity in the area, an action that reportedly negatively impacted the execution of a search warrant.

Reddin is currently suspended without pay. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.
