Rockefeller Center announces 2026 Christmas tree details
The Rockefeller Center has announced the details for its 2026 Christmas tree. The selection is a 75-year-old Norway spruce sourced from a property in West Edmeston, Otsego County, Upstate New York. Donated by landowner Rebecca Decker, the tree stands 23 meters tall, has a diameter of 15 meters, and weighs approximately 11 tonnes.
The tree is scheduled to be felled on November 5 and arrive in Manhattan on November 7. Following its arrival, crews will spend several weeks decorating it with over 50,000 multicolored LED garlands and a 400-kilogram Swarovski star composed of 70 crystals. A free event, Meet the Tree Day, will be held on November 7 to view the tree in its natural state before the official lighting ceremony.
