Rocket League to migrate to Unreal Engine 6 in 2027

Psyonix has announced that Rocket League will migrate to Unreal Engine 6, with a planned debut in 2027. This transition marks the first major engine overhaul for the title since its 2015 launch, when it began operating on Unreal Engine 3.

During the RLCS World Championship 2026, Psyonix revealed that professional players and content creators are being directly involved in the development and testing phases. High-profile competitors, including zen, Archie, and Ferra, have participated in testing the new version during LAN events to provide feedback for the game's evolution.

The goal of the migration is to rebuild Rocket League from the ground up, utilizing the advanced capabilities of the next-generation engine. While official details regarding specific features remain limited, reports suggest the full migration could occur in the spring of 2027, potentially coinciding with major esports competitions.
