Rockfall breaches house wall in Giresun, Turkey, no injuries reported

Heavy rain caused a rockfall in the Çavuşlu district of Giresun Province, Turkey, sending a large rock fragment into the wall of a dwelling in Bahşiş neighbourhood. The impact destroyed part of the house but, because the struck room was empty, no one was injured or killed.

Municipal teams were dispatched to assess damage and secure the area. Çavuşlu Mayor Selim Hamzaoğlu said the incident caused "significant damage" but expressed relief that there were no casualties, and pledged that the municipality will use all available resources to assist the affected family. Authorities warned that landslide risk remains elevated while the rain persists and urged residents to stay cautious.
