Rockstar confirms GTA 6 pre‑load begins November 12

Rockstar Games announced that the digital version of Grand Theft Auto VI will be available for pre‑loading on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S starting at midnight local time on 12 November. The pre‑load window gives players a week to download the game before its worldwide launch on 19 November.

Pre‑orders for GTA VI began in June, with a Standard edition and a higher‑priced Ultimate edition that includes all single‑player content. The Standard edition does not contain every single‑player feature, prompting some buyers to consider the $100‑plus Ultimate package. Industry analysts note that the hype surrounding GTA VI is reshaping the 2026 video‑game calendar, with other publishers adjusting launch dates to avoid competing with the title's release.

The pre‑load feature also allows players to free up storage space in advance, ensuring they can start playing immediately when the game goes live on 19 November.
