Rockstar Games confirms GTA 6 will lack microtransactions and generative AI

Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will not include microtransactions or generative AI at the time of its release. Rob Nelson, Co-Studio Head of Rockstar North, stated to Kinda Funny Games that there is “no monetization in the game” and denied the use of generative AI tools during development.

Market research firm Sensor Tower has updated its pre-order estimates for the title, projecting approximately 4.77 million units sold, generating an estimated 446 million euros in revenue. Data indicates an unusual consumer trend where roughly 90 percent of pre-orders are for the Ultimate Edition, while only 10 percent are for the Standard Edition. These figures are estimates and have not been officially released by Take-Two Interactive.
