Narrative lead Rupert Humphries stated that while the game will draw inspiration from contemporary culture and the unique atmosphere of Florida, the developers intend to avoid specific political figures, movements, or real-world events to ensure the game remains relevant at its time of release.

The game aims to present a distorted, exaggerated, and grotesque version of the region, utilizing elements such as conspiracy theories and public reactions to everyday occurrences to create a reactive and living world.

Additionally, dataminers have uncovered evidence suggesting a potential collaboration between GTA 6 and Discord. Leaked code points to a promotional campaign codenamed ‘Hexagon’ that could include themed app icons, interfaces, and fonts. If the leak is accurate, the event could begin in November 2026, offering different durations of access for standard users versus Nitro subscribers.
