Rockstar Games launches GTA V Enhanced PC version and confirms Red Dead Redemption 2 graphics upgrade

Rockstar Games has split the PC edition of Grand Theft Auto V into two separate branches. The older "Legacy" version retains the original code, while the new "Enhanced" version adds modern graphics, higher resolutions, faster loading times, and smoother performance, matching recent console upgrades. The two versions are not interchangeable and do not support cross‑play, a change introduced as the company prepares for the upcoming release of GTA 6.

Separately, the studio has refuted rumours that work on a next‑generation graphical overhaul for Red Dead Redemption 2 has been abandoned. Developers cited by insider Reece Reilly say the project continues, targeting 60 FPS, ray‑tracing and 4K resolution on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. Rockstar remains silent publicly, but the ongoing effort keeps fans hopeful for a major visual upgrade in the near future.
