GTA 6 sets pre‑order record ahead of November 2026 launch

Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch on 19 November 2026 and has already shattered pre‑order benchmarks. Analyst firm Newzoo reported $260 million in digital pre‑order revenue in the first week, the highest opening recorded for the service. The figure covers the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Japan, Spain and other key markets, with the United Kingdom and France alone contributing $180 million. The game is priced at $80 (standard) and $100 for the Ultimate edition, which bundles extra in‑game content and has consistently outsold the base version in nine territories.

Industry observers also note a wave of speculation surrounding a potential third trailer, the timing of Rockstar’s earnings call, and the possibility that the story campaign and the online multiplayer component may be offered as separate downloads on Xbox. Additional rumours include the reuse of cut‑content from GTA V and the emergence of a dedicated GTA Online add‑on. While Rockstar has remained silent on many of these points, the unprecedented pre‑order momentum underscores the game’s significance for both the gaming market and Rockstar’s parent company, Take‑Two Interactive.
