Rockwell Automation launches CompactLogix 5390 controller

Rockwell Automation has launched the CompactLogix 5390 controller, a new addition to its Integrated Architecture portfolio designed to optimize performance, security, and safety in modern automation environments.

The controller features built-in cybersecurity capabilities compliant with the IEC 62443-4-2 standard, assisting manufacturers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in meeting the requirements of the EU Cyber Resilience Act. It integrates safety functions and control performance into a single platform to simplify machine design and regulatory compliance.

In terms of physical design, the CompactLogix 5390 offers a 43% reduction in installation footprint compared to its predecessor, the CompactLogix 5380. It supports PointMax I/O to enable modular control architectures and is designed to work seamlessly within the Rockwell Automation ecosystem, including Kinetix motion solutions, PowerFlex drives, and Stratix networking technology.
