Rockwell Automation Reports Broad MES Adoption but Low Enterprise Integration

Analysts at Zacks Research raised their Q1 2028 earnings‑per‑share estimate for Rockwell Automation to $3.63, up from $3.62, after the company posted $3.30 EPS and $2.24 billion revenue for the quarter, beating consensus expectations. The firm’s return on equity was 37.5% and net margin 12.4%.

In a separate industry insights report, Rockwell Automation found that 93% of manufacturers have a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) in at least one facility, yet only 23% have fully integrated MES with ERP, PLM, quality and OT systems across the enterprise. Integration was ranked the top buying priority and obstacle, while 46% of manufacturers reported a cybersecurity incident in the past year. The report also noted that 42% of processes are expected to be AI‑supported within a year, though 43% say they are not effectively using collected data. Kumi North America, a Tier‑1 automotive supplier, was cited as a real‑world example of scaling Rockwell’s Plex MES across U.S. and Canadian sites.
