Rocky 50th anniversary celebrations announced globally

Various productions and events are being organized to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Oscar-winning film ‘Rocky’.

In Japan, the ‘Rocky Cinema Concert’ will be held for the first time outside of North America at the Tokyo International Forum Hall A on December 18, 2026. The event features an orchestra performing Bill Conti’s score live alongside a full screening of the film.

In the United States, the CM Performing Arts Center in Oakdale is presenting ‘Rocky the Musical’ from August 22 through September 20. The production features Rich Giordano as Rocky Balboa and Samantha Hayes as Adrian Pennino.

Additionally, a film titled ‘I PLAY ROCKY’ is scheduled for release in Dutch cinemas on November 19, 2026. Directed by Peter Farrelly, the biographical film depicts the true story of Sylvester Stallone’s struggle to sell his script and secure the lead role in the original movie.
