Rocky returns to theaters in 4K for 50th anniversary

The 1976 film Rocky, starring Sylvester Stallone, is returning to movie theaters in a remastered 4K version to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Directed by John G. Avildsen, the film follows a Philadelphia boxer who receives an unexpected opportunity to fight heavyweight champion Apollo Creed.

In Mexico, the cinema chain Cinépolis has announced that pre-sales for the re-release will begin on October 26 via its official website and application. The commemorative re-release is part of an initiative driven by Amazon MGM Studios, Park Circus, and Fathom Entertainment.

The original production was a significant critical success, earning ten Academy Award nominations in 1977 and winning three, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Film Editing.
