Rocío Jurado biographical miniseries announced for 2027
A new biographical miniseries titled ‘Rocío’ is set to explore the life and career of the renowned Spanish singer Rocío Jurado. The project is a co-production between RTVE and Movistar Plus, produced by Boomerang TV.
Directed by Humberto Miró with a script by Aurora Guerra, the four-part series aims to provide a rigorous and respectful portrait of the artist, moving away from sensationalism. The production features a large cast including over 70 characters and nearly 2,000 extras. Martiño Rivas is set to play Pedro Carrasco, Jurado’s first husband.
Filming took place between June and August at more than 66 locations, including key sites such as Chipiona, the sanctuary of the Virgen de Regla, and the Teatro Calderón in Madrid. The series is expected to premiere in 2027.
