Rocío Nahle denies having foreign bank accounts

Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle García has denied allegations regarding the existence of foreign bank accounts and the purported cancellation of her financial services in the United States. The denials follow reports suggesting that U.S.-based financial institutions had initiated processes to close accounts or request the withdrawal of funds linked to Nahle and her associates.

Nahle stated on social media that she has never had a banking relationship in the U.S. and characterized the claims as baseless lies and speculations intended to damage her integrity. She noted that such attacks often target her status as a woman in leadership.

The controversy stems from reports suggesting that U.S. financial authorities requested Mexican subsidiaries to review the movements of several governors, including those from Veracruz, Campeche, Durango, Morelos, Coahuila, Oaxaca, and Mexico City, regarding potential asset freezes. Nahle maintained that there are no formal procedures against her and that Mexico possesses its own legal mechanisms.
