Rod Argent returns to stage after stroke

Rod Argent, the 81-year-old keyboardist and co-founder of the psychedelic rock group The Zombies, has returned to the stage for the first time since suffering a stroke in July 2024. The performance took place on October 31 at St Albans Cathedral in England as part of the annual Begin Here festival.

Argent joined singer Colin Blunstone during an acoustic set, performing three songs, including “Time of the Season” and “She’s Not There.” The musician reported feeling “very emotional” following a standing ovation from the audience. While Argent noted his health is improving, he indicated that he does not intend to return to regular touring to protect his wellbeing.
