Rod Stewart undergoes coronary stent procedure after heart obstruction discovery

Singer Rod Stewart underwent a routine procedure to have a coronary stent placed after doctors discovered an underlying heart issue. The discovery followed an incident on June 19, 2026, during a concert in West Valley City, Utah, where the 81-year-old artist nearly fainted on stage and required oxygen.

Stewart's wife, Penny Lancaster, revealed that medical specialists detected a slight artery obstruction. The procedure was successfully completed in August, leading to a recommended four-week recovery period. This medical intervention resulted in the cancellation of several dates from his ‘One Last Time’ tour, including a six-concert residency in Las Vegas and scheduled performances in the United States and Mexico.

Lancaster noted that Stewart is currently doing well and is eager to return to performing. She highlighted the physical intensity of his shows, noting that the singer often performs with high energy, which requires significant physical preparation.
