Rod Tucker replaced by reserve umpires during India-Sri Lanka Test

Australian umpire Rod Tucker was unable to continue his on-field duties during Day 3 of the first Test between India and Sri Lanka at the Galle International Stadium after falling ill. Tucker reportedly became unwell during the tea interval on Day 2 and was unable to recover sufficiently to resume officiating the following morning.

To ensure the match continued without disruption, match organizers implemented standard protocols to replace him. Ahsan Raza, who had been serving as the television umpire for the match, was moved onto the field to take over the on-field duties. Other reports indicate that reserve umpire Raveendra Wimalasiri was also called upon to fulfill on-field responsibilities for the day's play.

The change did not impact the scheduled play between the two teams. Tucker, a member of the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires, remains under observation, though no official statement has been released regarding the specific nature of his illness or his availability for the remainder of the Test series.
