Rod Wave faces 14 charges in Georgia shooting case

Rapper Rod Wave is facing 14 charges following an April 2025 shooting incident at his residence in Milton, Georgia. Prosecutors recently revealed they have turned over more than 90GB of evidence to the defense, which includes approximately 1,900 photos, 111 videos, and several audio files.

Authorities allege that following a burglary at the home, a verbal dispute between Wave and an associate escalated into gunfire. Police claim shots were fired outside the property, striking vehicles including a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon and a Rolls-Royce. The charges against the artist include aggravated assault, reckless conduct, criminal damage to property, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Wave has pleaded not guilty, maintaining that he was a victim of a burglary and was not committing a crime. His attorney, Drew Findling, stated, “There is no truth to these charges,” and expressed confidence that the matter will be resolved favorably. A separate body-camera video from an April 2025 traffic stop involving the rapper has also surfaced, showing an officer issuing a seatbelt citation after Wave was clocked at 83 mph.

The next court hearing for the shooting case is scheduled for September 28.
