Rodacy Kamraci group lays wreath at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

Members of the ultra-nationalist and pro-Russian group Rodacy Kamraci laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw's Piłsudski Square on Saturday, October 17. The group, which has been associated with neo-fascist views and has faced legal issues regarding hate speech, wore attire resembling police uniforms during the event.

The Warsaw Garrison Command clarified that it does not issue permissions for laying wreaths, noting that anyone is permitted to do so. The military also explained that sentries follow standard protocols, such as the ‘Present Arms’ salute, to honor the fallen regardless of who is laying the wreath.

The Warsaw Metropolitan Police confirmed that the gathering was officially registered with the Warsaw Security Center and that officers were present to ensure the safety of participants and bystanders in accordance with assembly laws. The police noted they do not manage Piłsudski Square nor decide who has access to the monument.
