Rodenbach to enhance climate resilience through new working group

The municipality of Rodenbach is increasing its focus on climate resilience following a proposal by the local SPD faction. The municipal council has approved the creation of a 12-month working group titled ‘Climate Resilience and Climate Protection in Rodenbach’. This group is tasked with informing the public about the consequences of climate change, gathering local needs and experiences, and developing concrete measures to address issues such as heavy rain, water management, heat, wildfire risks, and critical infrastructure.

In conjunction with these efforts, Rodenbach will host an environmental festival on October 3, 2026. The event aims to promote climate protection, energy saving, and biodiversity. Activities include information on municipal heat planning, energy-efficient home renovations, and nature conservation projects. Local organizations and environmental groups will participate to provide guidance on topics ranging from drinking water protection to natural garden design.
