Rodinei departs Olympiacos for Santos after successful Greek tenure
Brazilian defender Rodinei is departing Olympiacos to join the Brazilian club Santos after a successful three-and-a-half-year tenure in Greece. During his time with the Piraeus-based club, the 34-year-old won multiple titles, including a league championship, the Greek Cup, the Greek Super Cup, and the Conference League in 2024.
In farewell statements, Rodinei humorously remarked that he was “tired of winning every year” due to the consistent success of the team. He expressed deep gratitude toward the Greek people and Olympiacos fans, stating that Greece would become his second home.
Reflecting on his teammates, Rodinei highlighted Kostas Fortounis for his exceptional quality and Brazilian-style play, and noted that he would have chosen teammate Ciakiniou to accompany him on his move back to Brazil.
