Rodney Leysner's vehicle identified in Suriname disappearance case
Authorities in Suriname have confirmed that a burnt-out vehicle discovered in a swamp in the Saramacca district belongs to missing Dutch film producer Rodney Leysner. The identification was made possible through the vehicle's visible chassis number, confirming the wreckage is Leysner's white Kia Sorento.
Leysner has been missing since August 15, after departing for a work-related appointment in Saramacca. The Korps Politie Suriname is treating the case as a potential crime and is investigating how and when the vehicle arrived at the remote location. Investigators are utilizing drones and forensic techniques to search for evidence around the wreck.
Four suspects have been identified in connection with the disappearance. Three individuals have been detained, including a Cuban couple and a third suspect. A fourth suspect remains at large as police continue their search.
