Rodolfo Sancho discusses impact of son Daniel Sancho's imprisonment

Spanish actor Rodolfo Sancho has spoken publicly about the emotional impact of his son Daniel Sancho’s imprisonment in Thailand. During an interview on the program ‘Y ahora Sonsoles’, Sancho discussed the shock and “state of dissociation” he experienced upon learning of the crime.

Daniel Sancho is currently serving a life sentence in a Thai prison for the murder of Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta. Rodolfo Sancho described receiving the news via a link sent by a relative and noted the difficulty of managing the legal and diplomatic aftermath while processing personal grief.

The actor reflected on the intense stress caused by the media attention and the emotional weight of his first prison visit, describing a sense of mutual devastation between father and son. Despite the situation, Sancho expressed a desire to maintain a stoic attitude, noting that he feels it would be hypocritical to complain given his privileged life.
