Rodolfo Xoy appointed Vice Minister of Energy and Mines in Guatemala
The Guatemalan Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) has appointed Rodolfo Guillermo Xoy Córdova as the new Vice Minister in charge of the Mining and Hydrocarbons area. Xoy Córdova, a mechanical engineer, brings over 30 years of experience within the ministry to this regulatory and oversight role.
His previous positions include serving as the sub-director of Commercialization in the General Directorate of Energy, head of the Economic Analysis Department, and coordinator of the Statistics Section. His expertise focuses on the regulation, commercialization, and economic analysis of the hydrocarbon sector.
In his new capacity, Xoy Córdova will focus on national energy policy, market oversight, operational efficiency, and ensuring supply security. He has also been involved in advising on the implementation of ethanol in Guatemala and the modernization of price monitoring systems.
