Rodri shines in first Barcelona start during 5-0 win over Valencia

Rodri made his first start for FC Barcelona during their 5-0 victory against Valencia at Mestalla. The midfielder delivered a highly efficient performance, completing 81 of 83 passes (98% accuracy) and providing defensive stability that allowed teammates like Pedri to play more offensively.

Following his substitution in the 62nd minute, Rodri was caught on camera expressing shock at Valencia's low level of play. Speaking to teammate Pau Cubarsí on the bench, he remarked, “They are very weak, very weak. They are very bad,” after learning that Valencia had finished near the top of the table the previous season.

While his performance solidified his role in Hansi Flick’s lineup, his presence has impacted the rotation of young talent Marc Bernal, who has seen reduced playing time as a result of Rodri’s integration into the starting eleven.
