SBT faces legal battle with N Sports and departure of Rodrigo Bocardi

Journalist Rodrigo Bocardi has officially left SBT following allegations of extortion. The accusations, made by former official Jones Donizette, suggest Bocardi solicited payments from municipalities in exchange for favorable coverage via his digital platform, BocaTV. Bocardi has denied all wrongdoing, labeling the claims “a great lie” intended to destroy his reputation, and stated that his departure was a mutual decision made weeks prior to the controversy to focus on his business ventures.

Separately, the broadcaster SBT is facing legal action from N Sports, a company owned by narrator Galvão Bueno. N Sports is suing SBT in the São Paulo Court of Justice for over R$ 40 million in unpaid revenues related to the 2026 World Cup commercial rights. Following the lawsuit, Galvão Bueno announced he is leaving his partnership with N Sports, citing disagreement with the decision to litigate against SBT, a company he expressed deep respect for.
