Rodrigo Casagrande and Ane Alencar named among Brazil's top future shapers

Psychoanalyst Rodrigo Casagrande, representing the Vale do Paraíba region, was announced on 27 July as one of the 50 “Mentes que estão moldando o futuro do Brasil” in the inaugural Prêmio Pensadores de Futuros 2026. He won in the Health and Well‑Being category of the award organized by the platform Futuros Possíveis, with the ceremony held at Inovabra Habitat in São Paulo.

Ane Alencar, director of Science at the Institute of Environmental Research of the Amazon (IPAM), was also highlighted on 27 July when O Globo published its list of 101 Brazilians shaping the future. Recognised for her three‑decade work on fire and deforestation in the Amazon and Cerrado, Alencar leads a team of more than 60 scientists and coordinates initiatives such as the MapBiomas Fogo project.
