Brazilian actor Rodrigo Lombardi is playing Otávio, a leader of the fictional Atlântico Futebol Clube, in Globoplay’s upcoming drama ‘Jogada de Risco’. The series, set to premiere on July 23, explores the hidden side of professional football, focusing on powerful alliances, tense negotiations and power struggles. Lombardi said he wanted the character to display the internal traits he is known for, describing the role as a departure from his usual glamorous parts. Director Bruno Safadi praised Lombardi’s willingness to leave his “beauty dictatorship” comfort zone, calling the performance courageous.

The production, created and starred by Cauã Reymond, promises a look at the darker aspects of the sport’s business world, with Lombardi’s portrayal of the archetypal, flamboyant football executive drawn from real‑life inspirations.
