Rodrigo Martín of Indra appointed president of Open Quantum Safe

Rodrigo Martín Sánchez-Ledesma, a Spanish mathematician and post-quantum cryptography expert at Indra, has been appointed president of the Open Quantum Safe (OQS) Technical Steering Committee. In this role, he will coordinate projects, define technical and management guidelines, and oversee the development of the organization’s various components.

Founded in 2016, Open Quantum Safe is a leading global open-source project focused on researching and integrating cryptographic algorithms designed to withstand the security threats posed by future quantum computers. The Linux Foundation recently integrated OQS into the Post-Quantum Cryptography Alliance (PQCA), an initiative supported by major technology firms including IBM, Microsoft, and Cisco.

Indra is currently involved in several significant quantum-related initiatives, including the integration of Spain’s national quantum communications network into the European EuroQCI infrastructure. The company has also developed COMSec, a secure communication system that provides end-to-end encryption for voice, messaging, and video, which has received certification as quantum-resistant from the Centro Criptológico Nacional.
