Rodrigo Pacheco advances in Cancun Country Open

Mexican tennis player Rodrigo Pacheco advanced to the round of 16 at the Cancun Country Open after defeating Chile's Tomás Barrios Vera. Pacheco, 21, overcame an early deficit in the first set to win 7-6 (5), 6-2 in the ATP Challenger 125 tournament.

Pacheco, who is currently ranked 292 in the ATP, expressed his desire to serve as an inspiration for future generations of Mexican athletes. Following a period of inactivity due to injury, he stated he is focused on improving his performance and aims to compete in a Grand Slam by 2027.
