Rodrigo Pacheco joins University of Texas tennis team

Mexican professional tennis player Rodrigo Pacheco will join the University of Texas Longhorns in January 2027. The agreement allows Pacheco to pursue an academic career while maintaining his status on the professional circuit and continuing to represent the Mexican national team in competitions such as the Davis Cup.

Adrián Contreras, captain of the Mexican Davis Cup team, praised the move, noting that the high level of competition and coaching at the University of Texas will benefit Pacheco both as an athlete and as an individual. The Mexican Tennis Federation will maintain communication with the university's coaching staff to coordinate Pacheco's participation in national team commitments.
