Rodrigo Paz defends U.S. trip and $10 billion investment claims

Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz has defended his recent trip to the United States, addressing criticisms regarding the use of the presidential aircraft and a stop in Florida. Paz stated that the travel was strictly for official purposes aimed at securing economic resources for the country, claiming the mission resulted in investment commitments exceeding $10 billion.

During a press conference, Paz clarified that his itinerary consisted of three phases: Washington, New York, and Florida. He addressed concerns regarding a flight stop in Boca Ratón, explaining that airport selections are technical decisions made by pilots rather than personal choices by the president.

Paz also drew comparisons to former President Evo Morales, arguing that his administration uses state resources for productive economic goals rather than personal interests. He emphasized that the meetings held, including those following the UN General Assembly, were focused on closing agreements for investment and production.
