Rodrigo Paz grants legal status to 13 religious organizations

President Rodrigo Paz Pereira delivered 13 Supreme Resolutions of Legal Personhood to various religious organizations during a ceremony at Palacio Quemado on September 7, 2026. The event, which included representatives such as Monsignor Benjamín Pinedo of the Brazilian Apostolic Catholic Church and Belford Guthrie Égüez of Andeb, aimed to formalize the legal status of these congregations and promote interreligious dialogue.

During his address, President Paz emphasized the importance of respecting Bolivia's cultural and religious plurality as a foundation for national construction. He called for honesty and truthfulness in society, noting that “sometimes telling the truth is not pleasant.” The President also addressed the need to combat corruption and transform state structures that he described as serving themselves rather than the people.
