Rodrigo Santoro and Camila Pitanga to star in ‘Garota da Urca’

Actors Rodrigo Santoro and Camila Pitanga are set to star in the upcoming Brazilian film ‘Garota da Urca’. Directed by Marcelo Gomes, the project is a production by Matizar Filmes and Misti Filmes.

While specific plot details remain largely confidential, Gomes described the film as an adult comedy exploring themes of love, sex, and the existential challenges faced by a married couple approaching their 50s. The director noted that the narrative focuses on how individuals change over time and how emotions from an initial encounter can be preserved as relationships evolve.

The production features a writing team including Leonardo Moreira and Luciana Paes. This marks a significant reunion for Santoro and Pitanga, who last worked together in the 2004 Brazilian telenovela ‘Mulheres Apaixonadas’.
