Rodrigo Santoro discusses Hollywood career after street encounter
Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro was recently approached by content creator Feroz Khan on the streets of the United States. Khan, who typically interviews strangers, did not initially recognize the actor.
During the interaction, Santoro jokingly described his profession by stating, “I pretend to be people I am not.” He went on to list several notable works from his career, including “300”, “Westworld”, “Love Actually”, “Abril Despedaçado”, and “Carandiru”.
Santoro reflected on the challenges of building an international career in Hollywood during the early 2000s. He noted that navigating the industry without the aid of social media or the internet was particularly difficult, especially as a Latino actor facing various stereotypes. He expressed that the constant change and the ability to experience different cultures through his work remain the most rewarding aspects of his profession.
