Rodrigo Santoro Open to Returning to Brazilian Telenovelas

Actor Rodrigo Santoro, 50, said he would consider returning to the telenovela format after a decade-long hiatus since his last appearance in Globo's "Velho Chico" (2016). He explained that any decision would depend on the quality of the project, the character offered, and the time required for filming, stating, "Everything depends on the invitation, the character and the recording time."

Santoro attended the Grande Otelo Film Awards, where he was nominated for Best Actor for "O Filho de Mil Homens" and won Best Supporting Actor for "O Último Azul." He highlighted the current positive phase of Brazilian cinema, citing recent successes such as "Ainda Estou Aqui" and "O Agente Secreto," and urged the industry to move from a period of "recovery" to one of sustained growth. He also clarified that he has never lived outside Brazil, residing in Rio de Janeiro while traveling for work.
