Rodrigo Werle to lead 2027 agricultural tour in Brazil
Dr. Rodrigo Werle, a weed scientist with the UW-Madison Extension, is organizing an educational agricultural tour to Brazil scheduled for January 2–10, 2027. The nine-day program is designed to provide farmers, agribusiness professionals, and crop consultants with insights into high-intensity cropping systems.
The tour will visit the Brazilian regions of São Paulo, Paraná, and Mato Grosso. Participants will focus on advanced agricultural technologies, intensive irrigation methods, and multi-crop rotation strategies, noting that some regions manage up to five harvests every two years. The tour aims to facilitate knowledge sharing and networking between international agricultural professionals and local Brazilian growers.
