Rodrigo y Gabriela announce 2027 Australian tour

Mexican acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela have announced a six-date national tour of Australia in January 2027. The tour will visit Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide, and Perth to support their upcoming album, ‘OurHome’.

Recorded and self-produced at NK Sound Tokyo, the new album marks a return to a predominantly acoustic sound. The duo noted that the creative process was influenced by a period of personal grief following the death of their studio cat, Pelusa, which helped them overcome a period of creative uncertainty.

The album features collaborations with artists including former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman, Japanese jazz pianist Hiromi, cellist Hiyori Okuda, and guitarist Yukihiro Atsumi. The music explores themes such as manga, mythology, migration, and philosophy. The duo has already released singles ‘Monster’, inspired by Naoki Urasawa’s manga, and ‘OurHome’.
