Roermond and Katwijk councils outline upcoming agendas and initiatives

The Roermond municipal council will spend the coming weeks reviewing the 2025 municipal accounts, the 2027 policy framework, and the composition of its committees. It will also consider the new Media Law that will reshape local public broadcasting, cutting the number of stations from about 230 to a maximum of 80 and shifting funding responsibilities to the national government.

In Katwijk, the child municipal council presented a review of its activities and outlined plans for the next year, including a village-wide hunting season for children in Valkenburg and two sport‑and‑play days. The youngsters asked the municipality and neighbourhood councils for roughly €2,000 to cover food, materials and promotion. Mayor Nathanaël Middelkoop welcomed the children and highlighted the importance of outdoor play.
