Roermond and Rietmolen summer festivals attract families in July 2026
The Dutch town of Roermond will host a two‑day Kinderzomerfestival on 11–12 July 2026. The program features superhero‑themed activities such as face‑painting, a 3D‑pen workshop, an obstacle course, traditional Dutch games, a fun photo booth, and performances by the Red Cross and a local puppet show.
From 9–12 July 2026, the village of Rietmolen will hold its Zomerfeesten, drawing several thousand visitors. Highlights include the "Grote Rietmolen Show" competition between neighbourhoods, live music from the dialect‑rock band Bökkers and other acts, a children’s drum show, a market‑style Bözzelweide playground, a brunch, a silent disco and a final Saturday evening concert line‑up. Volunteers play a key role in both events, handling set‑up, hospitality and clean‑up.
Both festivals aim to provide family‑friendly entertainment and promote local community spirit ahead of Rietmolen’s centennial celebration in 2029.
