Roermond and Wonen Zuid agree to Sterrenberg neighborhood redevelopment

The Municipality of Roermond and housing corporation Wonen Zuid have signed an agreement to proceed with the redevelopment of the Sterrenberg neighborhood in Donderberg. The project involves replacing 72 existing homes with 72 new residences, consisting of 44 single-family homes and 28 apartments.

The new housing stock will include 52 social rental units, 9 middle-market rental units, and 11 affordable homes for purchase. Beyond residential construction, the plan includes renewing public spaces, parking, and greenery, as well as creating a neighborhood park with play facilities. The project is part of the broader Donderberg Neighborhood Development Plan and awaits environmental permits and municipal council advice.
