Roermond to redevelop Sterrenberg with 72 new homes

The municipality of Roermond and housing corporation Wonen Zuid have signed an agreement for the redevelopment of the Sterrenberg area within the Donderberg district.

In the first phase of this project, 72 existing homes will be replaced with new constructions located between Neptunusstraat, Plutolaan, and Marsstraat. The new development will consist of 44 single-family homes and 28 apartments. The housing mix includes 52 social rental homes, 9 mid-market rental homes, and 11 affordable owner-occupied homes.

In addition to residential construction, the project involves redesigning public spaces, including streets, parking areas, and green spaces. The plan also includes the creation of a neighborhood park equipped with play facilities. This initiative is part of the broader Donderberg District Development Plan, aimed at providing more diverse housing options and improving the living environment.
