Roger Clemens corrects Donald Trump on stage during Texas campaign event
During a Republican campaign event in San Antonio, Texas, on October 7, Donald Trump announced that former baseball star Roger Clemens would be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States.
During the speech, Trump claimed that Clemens had hit more opposing batters with pitches than any other pitcher in Major League Baseball history, asserting that the claim was true. Clemens responded to the statement on stage, telling the President, ‘I don’t think so, Mr. President,’ thereby correcting the record in front of the audience.
In addition to the tribute to Clemens, Trump used the event to campaign for Ken Paxton, the Texas Attorney General and Republican candidate for the Senate.
