The event will be held at the Qizhong Tennis Center and marks Federer's second consecutive year participating in the showcase during the ATP Masters 1000 tournament.

The announcement was reported by tennis journalist Michael Samulski and followed by a video message from Federer expressing his excitement to meet fans in Shanghai again. The appearance follows a series of post‑retirement exhibitions, including a US Open Fan Week event, a doubles match at the Australian Open and a Royal Box appearance at Wimbledon.
