Roger Goodell: Over 200 NFL players want to compete in Olympics
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell stated that more than 200 NFL players have expressed interest in participating in the Olympics. This interest follows the decision to include flag football in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Speaking in Düsseldorf during the Flag Football World Championship, Goodell commented on the global growth of the sport. He noted that the sport is no longer exclusive to the United States, citing a recent historic match where American Samoa defeated the USA 38-32, marking the first time the U.S. has lost in 14 years.
Goodell described the result as a milestone that signals flag football's transformation into a truly global sport where athletes from all nations can compete at a high level.
