Roger Martínez joins Al Shabab FC in Saudi Arabia

Colombian striker Roger Martínez has officially joined Al Shabab FC in the Saudi Pro League. The 32-year-old forward signed a contract through June 2027, which includes an option to extend the agreement until 2028.

Martínez joins the Riyadh-based club as a free agent following his tenure with Al-Taawoun. During his time with Al-Taawoun, he recorded 30 goals in 58 matches, including a notable 23-goal campaign in the 2025/26 season. Al Shabab sought his signing to address a lack of offensive clinicality that impacted the team's performance last season.

Before returning to Saudi Arabia, Martínez played for various international clubs, including Racing Club, Villarreal, and América de México. Despite reported interest from South American clubs such as Boca Juniors and Junior de Barranquilla, the striker chose to remain in the Middle East.
