Roger Remington honored in Farnham for London water infrastructure leadership
Civil engineer Roger Remington has been honored in his hometown of Farnham with an addition to the town’s Wall of Notable Names. Remington is recognized for his leadership as Project Director of the London Water Ring Main (LWRM).
The LWRM is a 50-mile network of tunnels located deep beneath London that connects major reservoirs near Staines and Enfield. The project, which Remington led from design through construction, began providing water in the mid-1990s.
Remington spent much of his career at Thames Water. During the ceremony in Farnham, Mayor Cllr Graham White described the Ring Main as one of the first great infrastructure projects of modern London.
